French finance minister urges CMA CGM to share its profits to help ease inflation, CMA CGM announces lower ocean freight rates

It is reported that CMA CGM announced yesterday that it has decided to take measures to reduce the shipping costs of containers imported into France and French overseas territories.
The move is in response to a call from the French government. On Wednesday, French Finance Minister Le Maire put pressure on the country's largest energy companies (Total Energies) and shipping companies (CMA CGM) to use some of their lucrative profits to help consumers cope with high inflation.
